The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) in the People’s Republic of China (P.R.C.) is seeking a highly motivated and skilled public professional with considerable experience in Mother and Child Health Care (MCH) to manage the 2 million USD/year MCH project. As a member of the Health and Nutrition team the successful candidate will contribute to conceptualization, design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the MCH Project and coordinate UNICEF assistance. The incumbent will:
- Collect and analyze data on the situation of children and women, project planning, monitoring and evaluation of MCH interventions
- In close coordination with counterparts, prepare annual workplans and budgets, follow- up on implementation and take corrective measures as required
- Document, network, advocate and support the development of relevant national policies and guidelines to improve the situation of women and children in China
- Channel UNICEF assistance to Projects and visit provincial, county and village level to monitor UNICEF inputs.
- Evaluate and analyse financial, programme budget, and supply reports and assist in preparing fundraising proposals and donor reports
The post is based in Beijing with frequent travel to project locations for monitoring and review. The qualifications of the incumbent should be at least:
- University degree in medical sciences or related field and a Master of Public Health
- Specialized training in Moth
